Handover of the vehicle includes two vital checks - the check of the Driver's driving licence by the Owner and the check of the condition of the vehicle.
Check of the driving licence:
The Driver is required to bring his licence to the handover for verification by the Owner. Here the Owner should reference the details of the Driver as specified on the Rental Agreement (which would have been provided prior to the rental) comparing name and checking the expiry date of the licence.
Check on the condition of the vehicle:
Upon pick-up, we advise the HubbaCar Owner and Driver to do a thorough inspection of the vehicle and document it's condition with photographs.
We advise you to:
- Take photos of the overall condition of the car
- Take a short video of the car
- Take close-up shots of the wheels, side skirts, and mudguard of the car
- Take a photo of the mileage and fuel levels
Should damage be found, these photos should be sent to [email protected] prior to handover of the vehicle notifying the Owner having done so.
There might be small scratches unaccounted for so you if you notice them, we advise you to document those too. However, if you fail to mark any major/visible damages prior to taking possession of the vehicle, you could be liable for the damages that you didn’t cause.
This damage should be notified to the HubbaCar Owner to avoid disputes on return. In the event of disputes, the photographic evidence will be submitted to HubbaCar and used to determine any damage done during the rental period.
Similar checking of the condition of the vehicle on return should also take place, fully documenting the condition of the car photographically.
